Preliminary Layout

  Title:   ApoCalypso   Setting:   The inside of a n  abandoned  warehouse Characters:  Calypso, Ann, Jersey, Lou,  Biko,  Reggie, Zombies (one zombie leader and  4  others)   Action:  Characters fighting off zombies; one of the characters waking up after a coma ; dialogue between two suspicious figures in a memory   Plotline:   We see  Jersey  and  the  other  zombie hunters, Ann, Lou, Biko, and Reggie ,  waiting in suspense for the zombies to come to their  new  hideout  so that they can attack them. In a moment of silence, one of the zombies’ arms breaks through a window and  startles the person that was nearest to the window, Biko.  The characters then look at the entrance of the warehouse and see  3 other zombies busting through the entrance. Peer Pitch & Concept Refinement Chart

    For my portfolio project, I decided to make a film and the genre is a mix of horror, comedy, and adventure. The target audience s for my film are mostly teens, young adults, and horror movie fans.  The concept is that  in a post-apocalyptic future, a girl named Calypso wakes up to find out that she is one of the last remaining humans in her country and that the zombies are now the dominant species on Earth. With no recollection from her past, she is rescued by an obscure team of zombie hunters that recruit her to help them take down the zombie society with high hopes that Calypso can regain her memories. Bloody zombie fights and hijinks ensue.  I have always been a fan of zombie apocalypse stories and cryptic stories, so I wanted to almost make a combination of the two and incorporate some of my own humor into it as well. Creativity & Genre

      Creativity is a characteristic that everyone  is capable to have . From job performances to writing books everyone is capable of being creative and it is used in ways and methods that people sometimes do not realize. Adults especially have a hard time with being creative because they are too focused on the tasks they  must  do. In the TED Talk,  “ The Theory of Creativity ,”  the speaker says that children think expansively and as they grow older, it reduces.  This especially true with the  “ Introductions Activity ” , where it was hard to try and come up with ways to  describe ourselves with specific  restrictions , which was probably influenced by how we are older . Once achieved, t he idea of creativity allows us to think outside the box and come up with new and innovative ideas that  will help us in our future careers.
